Peace of the mind
Everything is silent. Nothing moves. Nobody carries heavy thoughts in their head. The only noise is the leaves on the trees clapping together like small children hands, birds singing and animals stamping through the forest. The trees grow all the way to the sky like skyscrapers. They wave gently slowly from side to side carefully in the same rhythm. Everyone is ready to go. They are standing in a small room with four windows one on each side of the white wall. There is a glass door that goes out to the forest outside the tiny room which is smaller than the windows that are like massive big mirrors. The Korean flag is proudly hanging on the wall in its beautiful black, white, red and blue colours which mix perfectly. It is rough and made of cotton. Her purpose in life is to be the master of freedom and respect, her clothes are white, her black belt shines in the early morning sun. Her hair is tied tightly in a pony tail on the back of her head. Her thought doesn’t run all the way around the world, but stays in one place. She’s relaxed, everything would get destroyed if just a little sound from a mobile phone came. All the stress would came back to her. Everything was so peace full, that you could hear every sound 1000 km away. Her flexibility powers makes her skilled to do things she wouldn’t be able to do if she wasn’t doing Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is a great way to relive stress, it also has a proud history, and it has belts in different colours.
Tae Kwon Do has a very interesting history. Tae Kwon Do is a sport the idea came from other similar sports judo and karate. His name is Choi Hong Hi; he is Korean. Years ago when it started it was called Tae Kwon Do today it’s still called by its original name. Tae Kwon Do also has a meaning Tae means to Kick or to Smash, Kwon means Punching or destroying and Do means Way or Method. It’s simply a physical fighting skill. It today is a material art form that combines from many material art forms, from Korea and surrounding countries 2,000 years back. The earliest know use of is about 50 B.C so this a long know sport. Since is so old you truly don’t know how they actually practised it in 50 B.C. That’s why you will find that they teach it differently some places, but most places do the same things, so it wont make any confusion.
Tae Kwon Do has many different styles of clothing; different coloured belts. The belts have different colours, the are uniform different shapes. The clothing is white for most teams although you can also get it in black, blue and red which represent the colours of the Korean flag. Likewise the belts have different meanings because you will be able to do different things, the belts shows which level you are at, with each of these belts it is not all easy. The belt has a rough texture similarly the clothing is not soft but rough. The helmet is either red or blue, a vest to protect your upper body which is also red and blue like the helmet. The cloths you wear are white, it it has long sleeves and has a V cut in the opening, but some of the tops are different you can also have one you tie at the side. All the tops have the V cut, even though the V cut hasn’t always been about. The trousers are white and long they have an elastic band at the top so they don’t fall down, the shirt hangs down over the trousers with the belt tight fitting on the stomach. It is for your own good and is to protect yourself from getting hurt so don’t think of it as an embarrassing thing because it’s not your only protecting yourself from getting hurt by someone else while figthing, because the things you do are quit dangerous for example the kicks you do aren’t all safe to practise with people standing near by you the kicks are high and powerful so be thoughtful. The first belt you get is white, this belt you don’t learn a poomse but defence and kicks, the next one is yellow, this belt you learn a poomse which is a series of kicks and defence, after yellow there is green, you learn a new kick and a poomse, then comes blue one, learn a new kick and a poomse, after that is of course blue two, there you also learn a new kick and a poomse, after is brown, here you also learn a new kick and a poomse, after brown is red one, a new kick and poomse, after is red two, that is only a poomse, then after that is red three, thats also only poomse, after is the black belt that goes all the way up to 10th so that’s a lot of belts, the poomses just get harder and harder the higher the belt you get. The poomse is a series of kicks, defence and hits.
